Cape Windjammers Education Trust offers various ways to become part of its volunteering programme.

On the Ship

Having participated in one of the Cape Windjammers Education Trust crew training journeys enables you to become part of the permanent crew that accompanies and trains new participants before, during and after each sailing trip. Keep looking for the announcement of the next permanent crew training journey offered!

In the Office

Cape Windjammers Education Trust offers exciting opportunities for professionals and students to become involved in the development and operation of this young and dynamic development organisation.

Local and international students are invited to apply for internships for 3 months or longer, which can be done on a full time or part time basis.

Professionals are invited to support us with their expertise, e.g. by facilitating training workshops for us, by setting up specific systems and train us how to use them, or by providing your time to take over certain responsibilities in the Trust. Many employers have programmes in place that allows for the donation of work time to worthy causes! Make use of them!

We are currently looking for skills in the following fields:

• marketing, fundraising and communication
• development of educational material around marine ecology, oceanography, wheather 
• accounting and financial management
• legal advice
• boat building
• sailing/skipping and youth development
